I recently discovered a new (to me) historical miniatures wargaming podcast, over at Sparker’s Wargaming Blog out of New Zealand Australia, and I thought I’d write a quick review (I’m doing an injustice to the word) and recommendation.
The podcasts run around 1 hour each, and are quite engaging, with a high signal to noise ratio. There are only three episodes, so far, and the first introductory podcast has some serious issues with the recording levels, but I can highly recommend the other two episodes. The second of the three is a survey of Cold War wargaming, discussing everything from scale, to model availability, to rules sets. The third covers a massive Waterloo game. I really appreciate the thoroughness with which the host approaches his subjects, and the analysis is excellent, as well. I hope Sparker continues to release episodes!

Very nice😀
The Cold War episode made my uncontrollable new period eye twitch activate.
Thanks mate – a very kind review of my podcasting attempts. Yes shame about the sound quality, should be better now! (I’m Australian, BTW, not a New Zealander!)
My apologies about the nationality mix-up! I’m not sure how I got New Zealand into my head.
The sound quality was great on the second and third episodes-I think you’ve got it sorted out. By the way, I’ve tried commenting on the podcasts over at your blog, but for some reason Blogger wasn’t playing well with my browsers (I tried MS Edge, Firefox, and Chrome), and I never could get the comments to go through. Even with trying three browsers, it could certainly be a problem on my end.
In any case, thanks for stopping by to comment – I’m looking forward to the next podcast.
